Job Description:

GENERAL:Staff accountant with a degree in accounting or equivalent experience. Position will be responsible for overall duties to include payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable.ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Process payroll in a timely mannerPrepare accounting related entries to numerous registers, journals and logsSupport accounts payable activities to ensure accuracy and timeliness of invoice creation and entryPerform monthly bank and credit card settlementsRegularly maintain detailed reconciliations of all balance sheet accountsProvide detailed analyses and explanations of all transactionsPrepare documentation for external auditorsPrepare quarterly and monthly tax returns, along with payroll, operating and business taxesDevelop monthly financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss statements and balance sheetsBalance and maintain accurate ledgersCoordinate bank deposits and report financial results on a regular basis to managementMonitor office expenses and tally and enter cash receiptsEnsure proper coding of all expenses to general ledger and job costing moduleCommunicate (both in verbal and written form) with clients, client suppliers, vendors, and banking contactsGenerate 1099's and W-2'sAny other duties as assignedEDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIRED:5 years of accounting experience.Bachelor's degree preferred.Government contracting experience preferred.Microsoft Word & Excel, QuickBooks, Peachtree experience required.Successful results of pre-employment background check, drug screen, as well as accounting test.Ability to get along with diverse personalities while displaying tact, maturity and flexibility.Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, especially MS Word, Outlook and Excel required.Flexibility to work varied hours for events and to meet deadlines as needed.Must be flexible and responsive to the urgency of a situation where expertise is needed.Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at times.
