Seton Medical Center Harker Heights is looking for a Nurse Practitioner to join our Wellstone Physicians Group in a clinic near the hospital, working to assess the physical needs of family medicine patients in an outpatient setting.Major Responsibilities

• Diagnosing, treating and managing acute and chronic family medicine conditions
• Function independently to perform age appropriate history and physical for routine and complex acute and chronically ill patients
• See new patients and follow up visits as delegated by family medicine physicians
• Ensure physician collaboration on complex and high priority issues
• Prescribing appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment modalities
• Ordering, performing and interpreting diagnostic tests such as lab work, x-rays, pathology
• Review diagnostic tests, lab, pathology for patients
• Formulate, and communicate results, recommendations to patients and collaborating physicians/specialists
• Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by making appropriate referrals
• Counselling/Educating patients on specific disease self-management strategies, disease prevention, and positive health and lifestyle choices
• Developing/maintaining formalized Wellness and Screening Program as well as maintenance program for high risk conditions
• Responsible for ensuring core competencies of clinical support staffSkills and Attributes
• Experience with patient safety best practices preferred
• Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information
• Demonstrated excellent customer service skills
• Demonstrated proficient communication skillsEducation/Skills/Experience
• Certification as Nurse Practitioner – Master's Degree in Nursing
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in caring for the adult population
• Family medicine experience preferredLicenses/Registrations/Certifications
• Board Certified as a Nurse Practitioner in the State of Texas, or,
• Board Certified as a Physician Assistant in the State of Texas
• BLS through AHA (American Heart Association) required upon hireLocation
