Locations include: - -Temple, Waco, Round Rock, Lakeway, Cedar Park, Pflugerville, Taylor, Buda and Marble Falls, TexasSchedule: - FT/PT/PRNJOB SUMMARYThe Respiratory Therapist Assistant, under general supervision, performs a variety of technical respiratory therapy treatments to contribute to the delivery of quality patient care.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ROLE

• Performs a variety of respiratory therapy treatments (including but not limited to PEP, IS and O2 checks, Incentive Spirometer treatments and oxygen therapy) in a quality manner and in accordance with established procedures.
• Under general supervision, instructs patients in the use of various treatments in a thorough and professional manner.
• Updates patient records with all therapies provided, and reports all unusual signs, symptoms or side effects immediately.
• Documents all treatments and therapies given, any supplies used, and accurately files all corresponding charges.
• Performs regular cleaning and sterilization of equipment in accordance with established procedures.
• Maintains the proper functioning of oxygen and emergency equipment through daily checks, and notifies staff to order the necessary supplies as needed.
• Currently enrolled in a Respiratory Care program.KEY SUCCESS FACTORS
  • Basic understanding of Respiratory Care modalities, therapies, equipment and medications.
  • Must be able to read, write and follow flow chart protocols as appropriate.
  • Must be able to communicate thoughts clearly; both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to follow established safety, infection control, and isolation procedures at all times.
  • Basic computer skills, including but not limited to: typing, information security, electronic medical documentation, hand held scanning and email.BENEFITSOur competitive benefits package includes the following
