The role you'll contribute:

Responsible for the delivery of safe, effective, and quality patient-family centered care in the Endoscopy/Special Procedures unit for all patient populations.

The value you'll bring to the team:

* Systematically assessing the health status of individuals and record related health data
* Planning and implementing nursing interventions
* Providing pre, intra, and post procedure education to the patients, families, significant others, and/or caregivers
* Providing health promotion strategies and education to patients and their support system,
* Administering and evaluating pharmacological and other therapeutic treatment regimens mandated by the particular situation and evidence-based practice.
* Evaluating outcomes of nursing intervention and initiating change when appropriate,
* Assisting the physician and/or advanced provider during diagnostic and therapeutic procedures (minor surgical, GI, Pulmonary and Pain Management) to promote optimal patient outcomes
* Delegate tasks according to the state Nurse Practice Act (if applicable), state board of nursing or professional registration requirements, state laws, and job descriptions.
* Document nursing care completely, accurately, and legibly.
* Any additional duties assigned that are in support of perioperative patient care.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

* Current state of Texas registered nurse licensure
* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
* Two years ambulatory surgery, Med-Surge or Endoscopic experience
