Job Title: RN - Med Surg Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Medical Surgical Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum 1 Year License: Active RN License Certifications: BLS Must-Have: Medical/Surgical experience BLS Description: Backfill contract position for a registered nurse in a medical surgical unit. The total number of beds in the unit is 32. There are 50 staff members on the unit. Day shift typically consists of 1 charge nurse, 6 registered nurses, and 3 patient care technicians. Night shift typically consists of 1 charge nurse, 5 registered nurses, and 2 patient care technicians. Patient ratios for day shift are 1:5 and for night shift are 1:6. Equipment used on the unit includes vital signs machines and designated communication devices. The electronic medical record system used is Meditech. There are permanent positions available within the unit. Candidates with experience in transplants, dialysis patients, and diabetic patients are preferred. Typical procedures performed include various surgical interventions, including kidney transplants. The ideal candidate will be a team player and take initiative. Dress code requires navy scrubs.
