Job Title: RN CVICU-Peds Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit - Pediatrics Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 13.5 Experience: Minimum of 2 years Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU experience required License: RN License Certifications: BLS, PALS, and ACLS Certification required Must-Have: - Minimum of 18 months Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU experience - Certifications in BLS, PALS, and ACLS Description: Pediatric Cardiovascular ICU nurses provide care for patients with congenital heart disease, post-surgical repair, heart failure, arrhythmias, and transplant. The unit accommodates a range of patients from neonatal to young adult, with occasional adult congenital heart disease patients. The nurse-to-patient ratio by shift is 1:1 for ICU status, 1:2 for step-down/non-ICU in overflow unit, and 1:3 for other cases. Successful candidates must have strong critical thinking skills and the ability to manage complex patient needs in a fast-paced environment.
