Current BLS certification Certifications: Certified Surgical
Technician Must-Have: Candidates must have a minimum of 3 years of
recent full-time experience as a CVOR Surgical Technician in a
high-volume hospital setting. Candidates must demonstrate
proficiency in all aspects of cardiac, thoracic, and vascular
procedures. Candidates must provide verifiable references from at
least two prior assignments confirming no training was needed.
Candidates must be able to function independently in a fast-paced
surgical environment. Candidates must participate in call coverage
after normal business hours and on weekends. Description: The CVOR
service line provides surgical interventions for routine and
complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular procedures. Cardiac
procedures include coronary artery bypass, valve
repair/replacement, aortic dissection, heart transplantation, and
placement of ventricular assist devices. The service line may also
include impella or intra-aortic balloon pump placement as well as
adult ECMO procedures. Transcatheter aortic valve replacement
(TAVR) procedures are performed in the endovascular operating room.
Thoracic cases include both laparoscopic, robot-assisted, and open
procedures. Vascular procedures range from placement and revision
of grafts and fistulas for end-stage renal disease to endovascular
procedures. The CVOR service line comprises 4 to 6 operating rooms
depending on daily volume, including an endovascular suite. The
service line has the capacity to perform four concurrent procedures
requiring cardiopulmonary bypass. Requirements Required for
