Our multi-facility campus includes 148 acute-care beds at Metroplex Adventist Hospital in Killeen, 60 psychiatric care beds in the nearby Metroplex Behavioral Health Center, and 25 beds at Rollins Brook Community Hospital in Lampasas. Through this Metroplex Health System, we offer a Women?s Center, Sleep Disorder Center, Endoscopy Center, Pediatric Rehabilitation Center, ICU, PCU, ED, imaging, surgery, home health services, and more. **What you will responsible for:** A position utilizing clinical expertise to evaluate concurrent documentation and level of severity of illnesses delivered to patients. Thorough extensive interaction with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, the CDS will be responsible for facilitating modifications to overall quality and completeness of medical record documentation. This will support the appropriate clinical picture/level of severity of the patient while providing accurate and complete information that is utilized in the profiling of outcomes reporting of both the hospital and the physicians. This role will interface with management and key physician leaders at the hospital at it prepares strategically for a competitive and solid future in today?s healthcare market. **PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND JOB RESPONSIBILITIES** **:** + Facilitate modification to clinical documentation supporting the clinical level of severity rendered + Support timely, accurate and complete documentation of clinical information used for measuring and reporting physician and hospital outcomes + Educate the medical staff and other clinicians using a variety of teaching methods. + Provide orientation to newly credentialed physicians. + Collaborate with the HIM inpatient coding staff to assist their understanding/clarification of documentation leading to appropriately assigning the DRG representing the patient?s severity of illness/resource consumption. **Qualifications** **What you will need:** + Associates Degree in Nursing + Strong organizational skills with demonstrated leadership ability + Highly developed problem solving skills + Self-directed, motivated behavior + Ability to develop and maintain supportive, collaborative relationships with physicians + Five years nursing experience + Bachelor?s Degree in Nursing (preferred) + BSN (preferred) + Certified Clinical Documentation Specialist (preferred) + Nursing experience in critical care areas (preferred) + Experience in case management or quality areas (preferred) This facility is an equal opportunity employer and complies with federal, state and local anti-discrimination laws, regulations and ordinances.We are an equal opportunity employer and do not tolerate discrimination based on race, color, creed, religion, national origin, sex, marital status, age or disability/handicap with respect to recruitment, selection, placement, promotion, wages, benefits and other terms and conditions of employment.
