Job DescriptionGeneral DescriptionThe purpose of this position is to assist customers make payments and deposits to the County.This position works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences. Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.

• Receives and processes payments and fees by collecting monies of various types from the public and other county offices, verifies accuracy of payments and issues receipts, enters data into computer, ensuring proper credit is given to correct customer account, balances cash drawer and makes deposits from multiple financial systems.
• Focuses on being detail oriented while performing multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Displays professionalism while performing financial transactions for customers in various stages of legal proceedings.
• Adheres to confidentiality of financial transactions.
• Possesses ability to proficiently use 10-key calculator with tape.
• Performs related work as required.Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:High School graduation or GED equivalent supplemented by one (1) year of experience in customer service, accounts payable/receivable, cash handling, payroll, bookkeeping, accounting or related field; or possession of any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.Physical Demands:
  • Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.Unavoidable Hazards (Work Environment):
