Description: IT Position supports PM DCGS-A facility located on West Fort Hood Texas. Work hours are approximately 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday through Friday. * Responsible for troubleshooting and resolving hardware, software, operating system, and networking problems for voice and data systems supported by the program. * Schedules, performs, and monitors system backups and, when necessary, performs data recoveries. Recommends hardware and software upgrades according to growth statistics and forecasts. * Schedules, plans, and performs system upgrades, including coordinating the transition from test to production environments. Schedules tasks using software support tools and scripts. * Configures hardware, such as workstations, printers, servers, and tape devices. Responsible for installing, maintaining, repairing and rebuilding aerial and underground telecom cable and wiring throughout the existing buildings, grounds, and related facilities. * Provides technical support for system users. Establishes voice and data networks by running, pulling, terminating, and splicing cables; installing telecommunications equipment, routers, switches, cable trays, building ironwork and ladder racks; establishing connections; programming features; establishing connections and integrations; following industry standards; activating remote access tools; coordinating with others. * Plans network installations by studying customer orders, plans, manuals, and technical specifications; ordering and gathering equipment, supplies, materials, and tools, assessing installation site; preparing an installation diagram. * Verifies service by testing circuits, equipment, and alarms; identifying, correcting, or escalating problems. Documents network by labeling and routing equipment and cables; recording configuration diagrams and specifications. * Maintains network by troubleshooting and repairing outages; testing network back-up procedures; updating documentation. * Must have communication hardware and software experience with telephone systems that support facilities and approximately 230 users. Requirements: * IAT Level II certification. * Active TS/SCI Clearance. * Familiar with Army NEC processes. * Background in military NEC procedures and processes is a plus.
