CPS CVS PD Supervisor III

This position manages 5 CVS units and one specialized out of state LPS staff. Performs highly advanced (senior-level) consultative services, technical assistance, and supervisory work. The position is responsible for the overall program service delivery for assigned Child Protective Conservatorship units. Work includes active participation, training and liaison activities within the community, overall Child Protective Services delivery of services, ensuring policies, procedures, and licensing requirements are in compliance and met in the program area, and for ensuring the movement of cases to permanency in compliance with legislation. The position interacts routinely with Texas Department of Child Protective Investigations staff, other agencies in the community, other community boards, judges, schools, law enforcement, and the general public.

Essential Job Functions:

Plans, coordinates and monitors service delivery and program areas to ensure effective and efficient program operations. Oversees the work of assigned staff. Develops and implements appropriate strategic plans for improving program operations. Prepares management reports, analyses, and correspondence on the effectiveness of program activities. Maintains communication with Program Administrator and other Texas Department of Family and Protective Services staff in order to provide the Program Administrator with pertinent information for responding to regional issues and developments. Selects, manages and develops staff through review of performance data, conferences, training and performance appraisal. Develops and maintains effective working relationships between Child Protective Investigation staff, Child Protective Services Boards, the general public, legal, medical, educational and other community entities. Interprets program policies and procedures to program staff, other FPS staff and the general public. Performs other duties as assigned and required to maintain unit operations. Promotes, monitors and ensures that respect is demonstrated for cultural diversity. Attends work regularly in accordance with agency leave policy. Knowledge Skills Abilities:

Ability to prepare clear and concise reports. Ability to develop and analyze special projects. Ability to supervise the work of others. Ability to travel locally and within the regions. Registration or Licensure Requirements:

None Required Initial Selection Criteria:

Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with major coursework in social work, counseling, psychology, criminal justice, early childhood education, criminal justice, elementary or secondary education, or a related field is generally preferred; plus 3 years of full time experience as a Child Protective Supervisor. Child Protective Services is professional social work where primary duties are providing social casework services to abused, neglected, or exploited children and their families. Certified CPS Supervisor. Additional Information:

Position reports to Program Administrator Kimberlie Mansell This position supervises 5 Conservatorship Units in the following Counties: Mills, San Saba, Blanco, Llano, Burnet, Lampasas, Coryell, Hamilton, Hill, and Bosque.

Position may be headquarterd in any of the above areas where office space is available.
