Z-Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, seeks Material
Handlers for our location in Killeen, TX. Reporting to the Lead
Material Handler, this position will perform various duties related
to inventory management and delivery to the production line.
+ Move freight, stock, or other materials to and from storage or
production areas, loading docks, delivery vehicles, ships, or
containers, by hand or using forklifts or other equipment.
+ Sort cargo before loading and unloading.
+ Attach identifying tags to containers or mark them with
+ Read work orders or receive oral instructions from Lead
+ Stack cargo in locations using pallets or cargo boards.
+ Record numbers of units handled or moved, using daily
production sheets or work tickets.
+ Install protective devices, such as bracing, padding, or
strapping, to prevent shifting or damage to items being
+ Direct spouts and position receptacles, such as bins, carts,
or containers, so they can be loaded.
+ Attach slings, hooks, or other devices to lift cargo and guide
+ Maintain equipment storage areas to ensure that inventory is
+ Guide loads being lifted to prevent swinging.
+ Carry needed tools or supplies from storage or trucks and
return them after use.
+ Follow all established safety procedures
+ Other duties as assigned by the Production Lead
+ The ideal candidate for the Material Handler position will
possess a High school diploma or equivalent, and 1+ years of
+ Forklift operation certification preferred
+ Ability to work unsupervised
+ Operation of forklifts and/or other conveying machines
+ Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings,
+ Knowledge and usage of measuring and testing devices, hand and
+ Basic math abilities
+ Mechanical aptitude
+ Strong problem solving, communication and organizational
+ Uncompromising commitment to safety
+ Ability to communicate effectively in English
+ Bend, twist, stoop, sit, kneel, crawl, push and pull. Able to
reach in all directions
+ Walk and stand for extended periods of time to cover 10 - 12
+ Successful completion of a post-offer hair follicle drug test,
physical and background check
+ Other physical requirements as needed for job
+ Legally eligible to work in the United States
+ Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the
posted schedule is an essential function of this role
+ Lead and promote health and safety work practices as required
by regulatory agencies and company policy
