DEFINITION / GENERAL PURPOSE: 9/2018
Maintains City Cemeteries by mowing, trimming and edging turf
areas, assisting in maintaining water systems on site, stone and
wall work to include concrete install and removal, planting and
managing tree installs and removals, providing landscaping as
assigned throughout the areas, picking up trash/debris, cleaning
gates/fences, adhering to the scheduled maintenance of the
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
Under the general supervision of assigned crew leader.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains municipal cemeteries by mowing grass, edging various
areas, maintaining landscapes, maintaining water systems, picking
up trash and performing related duties as assigned.
Fill out and manage a daily work log related to specific work

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Minimum education: High school diploma.
Minimum experience: 6-12 months related experience.
Valid, Class "C" Texas Driver's License.
Job location will largely consist of city cemeteries.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Knowledge of the rules, regulations and procedures of grounds
maintenance and cemetery care;
Knowledge of equipment, materials and supplies used in building
and grounds and/or turf maintenance/management;
Knowledge of landscaping methods, techniques and materials;
Ability to vary start times and scheduled days of the week
working within 20 hours a week to fulfill the requirements of the
Ability to work independently and to complete daily
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out
instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to solve problems, analyzing issues, identifying the
problem, and finding the solution;
Ability to establish and maintain effective working

Pickup truck; lawn/turf and landscaping equipment, including
tractors, mowers, aeriation equipment, chain saw, edger's,
backflows, weed trimmers, trailers, backhoe, electric motors,
pumps, sprinklers, irrigation systems; miscellaneous hand and power
tools for lawn maintenance.
