SPILL RESPONSE TEAM LEAD - Relocate to Kuwait

Response Team (SRT), Lead provides experience in planning, organizing,
directing and evaluating all aspects of environmental knowledge and control
during incident responses. SRT Lead
directly responds to spills that have the potential to adversely impact the
environment. SRT Lead provides technical
assistance to the Facility Incident Commander (FIC) or Sr. ESH Engineer
regarding the safety of spill responders and clean-up crews. The SRT Lead will provide oversight and
follow-up investigations on all remediation tasks. When necessary, the SRT Lead will conduct
training in Spill Response related subjects.
MAJOR JOB ACTIVITIES:
- The SRT Lead must have knowledge
in the instruction and operations of hazardous material response personnel and
- The SRT Lead provides a single
point of contact for the camp transition (soil) yard.
- The SRT Lead plans, organizes,
directs and evaluates all aspects of environmental control during incident
- The SRT Lead generates spill
plans and HazMat/HazWaste turn-in documents and waste generator reports.
- The SRT Lead will ensure proper
integration with ASG-KU tenants and Host Nation emergency first responders
during spill incident situations on or off ASG-KU Camps.
- The SRT Lead develops and
conducts classroom instruction in in Spill Response related subjects.
- The SRT Lead organizes and
facilitates practical Spill Response exercises with various ASG-KU tenant
- Other duties as directed by the Facility
Incident Commander (FIC) or Sr. ESH Engineer and Environmental Department Manager/Engineers.
MATERIAL & EQUIPMENT DIRECTLY USED:
Personal computer, printers,
calculator, copy machines, scanners, FAX machines, phones, and other general
office equipment. PPE including SCBA and
Tyvek protective outer garments, Operates non-tactical vehicles as required.
Work is generally office
environment. However, duties will involve the conduct of work in the
outdoors with a potential exposure to extreme climatic conditions including
frequent dust storms, and high temperatures - up to 130 degrees in the summer
months. Potential exposure to chemical or biological agents could
exist. Employee use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in certain
areas is required. Such PPE includes but is not limited to head, foot,
hand, torso, respiratory, vision and hearing protective devices.
Candidate must comply with all Fire, Safety and post policies. Normal
work week is 48 hours, but must be able to work overtime or nights as required;
to include, holidays.
Work may require heavy
lifting (up to 65 pounds), stooping, climbing, prolonged standing, prolonged
sitting, and working with or in areas where a potential could exist for
exposure to physical, chemical or biological agents. Must
apply recognized safety policies and procedures when lifting, shifting, moving
and transporting equipment.
Position requires significant
bending, reaching, squatting, crawling, twisting and turning. This
position has been designated as emergency essential by the DoD and is therefore
required as a condition of employment to take a series of vaccine immunizations
to include annual boosters. This would
include other immunizations that may in the future be required for this position,
or for a position the employee may fill as an emergency-essential
alternative. Failure to take the
immunizations may lead to removal of employee for this position. All applicable DoD, Department of State, or
other Federal documents, (i.e., Directives, Instructions, and Requirements for
Essential Employees) will be followed by employee and employer.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education/Certifications: One year related experience may be substituted for one year of education, if degree is required. High School graduate, AS degree preferred. Experience: Must have 2-5 years of experience working with hazardous materials or hazardous wastes. Good written communication skills. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and Power Point. Specialized Knowledge Required: - Must be computer literate- Annual and recurring certifications required in: -- 40-Hour HAZWOPER-- HAZCOM-- Respiratory Protection Skills: Ability to work for long periods of time in austere environments
SUPERVISORY/BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES:Leads the SRT in the performance of assigned tasks.
