Strategy Director Location: Austin, TX Job Purpose: The Membership
Strategy Manager plays a pivotal role in driving membership growth
by developing, implementing, and evaluating comprehensive
year-round recruitment sales strategies for both youth and adult
members within the council. This position provides leadership and
management oversight to a team dedicated to lead acquisition,
cultivation, conversion, and placement across our service area.
Additionally, the Membership Strategy Manager ensures the
maintenance and effectiveness of all systems that support
recruitment functions. Essential Functions Membership Strategy and
Leadership Provides strategic leadership in the creation and
implementation of agile, data-based, and responsive council-wide
membership recruitment strategies for both youth and adults. Equips
member-facing teams with effective tools, resources, and messaging
to support prospect conversion. Oversees a team dedicated to member
acquisition enablement, including lead management. Partners with
cross-functional teams to ensure recruitment strategies align with
council priorities and strategic plans. Collaborates frequently
with the marketing team to develop content and assets to drive
membership recruitment, ensuring those materials are accessible,
effective, and aligned with the sales process. Provides strategic
guidance and tactical plans for establishing, cultivating, and
maintaining relationships with schools, like-minded community
organizations, faith-based organizations, and businesses to promote
and deliver Girl Scouting within our service area. People
Management Sets clear expectations and leads a high-performing team
through innovation and effective delegation. Provides coaching,
training, and development opportunities to foster a culture of
teamwork and achievement. Champions diversity, equity, inclusion,
and access in all aspects of leadership and team development.
Relationship Building and Collaboration Builds strong relationships
with internal stakeholders and external partners to support
recruitment goals. Collaborates across departments to align efforts
with mission objectives. Engages with peer councils to identify and
apply best practices from the broader Girl Scout movement. Project
Management and Communication Develops and manages departmental
budgets, ensuring strategic resource allocation. Leads various
projects related to this role, monitoring progress and keeping
stakeholders informed throughout project lifecycles Communicates
effectively across multiple platforms including email, social
media, presentations, and training sessions. Required
Qualifications Three or more years of experience in sales, lead
management, workflow systems, and data analysis/reporting. Five or
more years of experience in membership-based, youth-focused, or
related organizations. Three or more years of supervisory
experience with a proven ability to lead inclusive, innovative, and
high-performing teams. Strong interpersonal skills, including a
natural curiosity and openness about other perspectives and an
ability to be diplomatic and professional when interacting with a
wide variety of people and sensitive situations. Ability to assess
training needs of staff and provide coaching to increase staff
empowerment, efficiency, problem-solving skills, and performance.
Ability to work effectively cross-departmentally, cultivating a
culture of collaboration, and demonstrating respect for
cross-departmental processes, staffing, and expertise. Effectively
interact, work, and collaborate with people of various cultural
backgrounds and promote an environment of inclusivity. Ability to
positively influence others and maintain effective relationships
with key stakeholders. Ability to critically assess current
processes and suggest improvements. Strong written and oral
communication, public speaking, and presentation skills. High-level
proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook or similar
productivity software. Ability to make a commitment to the
philosophy of Girl Scouting, both nationally and locally. Capable
of maintaining strict confidentiality and professionalism when
handling sensitive information. Yearly membership in GSUSA is
required. Maintains a valid TX driver’s license, an acceptable
driving record, acceptable vehicle insurance, and reliable
transportation to travel within Girls Scouts of Central Texas
service area. Satisfactory results from a criminal background
check. Education Bachelor's degree in a field related to the job or
an acceptable combination of education and experience to meet job
qualifications. Preferred Qualifications Experience with CRM
software tools (e.g., Salesforce), data warehouse tools (e.g.,
Looker), and task management software (e.g., Asana). Non-profit
experience. Bilingual in English/Spanish. Physical Requirements
This is largely a sedentary role but involves walking or standing
for brief periods of time and for special events. Frequent travel
within the greater Austin area. Occasional travel throughout the
rest of GSCTX’s assigned geographical area, including Waco, San
Angelo, Killeen, Bryan/College Station, and Brownwood. Infrequent
travel opportunities outside the Girl Scouts of Central Texas
region. Frequent use of computers and other office productivity
machinery, such as copy machines and printers. Periodic filing will
require the ability to reach, push, pull, bend, stoop or stand as
necessary. Will occasionally lift office products and supplies
weighing up to 30 pounds. Normal visual acuity and field of vision,
hearing and speaking abilities, finger dexterity and repetitive
hand motions for manual manipulation of a keyboard or mouse.
Ability to read, write, and communicate verbally and in written
form to express and exchange ideas and can understand, remember,
and communicate routine information. Ability to compose material
such as operating procedures, organization-wide communications,
detailed reports, and slides to aid in presentations. Ability to
maintain emotional control under stress. Reasonable accommodations

perform the key responsibilities of this position. Environmental
Demands Continuous indoor activity and exposure to florescent
light. Some outdoor activities and exposure to weather. Ability to
work in the office and travel 20% of time to other locations within
the council jurisdiction time to meet with members, collaborate
with diverse community groups, and represent the council in the
community. Work some nights and weekends, as needed. Frequent work
under stress and under pressure of deadlines. Important Note: The
