Job Description:
Summary The Competitive Intelligence Analyst is responsible for
supporting Prosperity’s Retail Life & Annuity business by
collecting, analyzing, and synthesizing competitive, market, and
product intelligence across the life insurance and annuities
landscape. This role provides critical insights that inform product
strategy, distribution enablement, and executive decision making.
This role will report to the Vice President of Intelligence and
Enablement, and work closely with partners across Product,
Distribution, Marketing, and Finance. The Analyst will take a
leading role in developing competitor profiles, tracking market
trends, and producing actionable intelligence tools that drive
competitive positioning and sales effectiveness. Major Duties and
Responsibilities Monitor and analyze competitor activity across the
life & annuity marketplace, including product changes, pricing
shifts, rider updates, distribution moves, and marketing
strategies. Maintain, update, and enhance comprehensive competitor
profiles, including SWOT analyses and product comparison summaries.
Track industry news, regulatory developments, earnings releases,
investor presentations, and Bureau of Insurance filings,
interpreting implications for Prosperity. Develop and maintain
market heatmaps, benchmark dashboards, and competitive positioning
tools to support Product and Distribution leadership. Create
battlecards, sales enablement materials, and competitive
positioning guides for internal and external wholesalers. Provide
insights and recommendations that support product enhancements,
market strategies, distributor conversations, and business
development opportunities. Prepare regular intelligence briefs for
senior leadership, summarizing key trends, threats, and
opportunities. Work cross functionally with Product, Marketing,
Distribution, and Finance to align intelligence with business
priorities. Respond to competitive inquiries from Sales and
Relationship Managers, including large case support. Proactively
identify market patterns, disruptive activity, and emerging trends
and propose recommended actions. Support continuous improvement of
intelligence processes, databases, and reporting methodology. A
high degree of curiosity, initiative, and strategic thinking is
required. Supervisory Responsibilities None Job Qualifications 5
years’ experience in competitive intelligence, market intelligence,
product, distribution, or research within the life insurance and
annuities industry. Strong working knowledge of annuity and life
product structures (Fixed, FIA, crediting strategies, compensation
structures). Experience with CI tools & industry databases (e.g.,
Morningstar Annuity Intel, Beacon, Wink Intel). Ability to
interpret competitor rate sheets, statutory filings, product
updates, earnings calls, and regulatory changes. Strong analytical,
financial, and critical thinking skills; ability to structure
insights from incomplete or unstructured information. Exceptional
PowerPoint and Excel skills; ability to build clear, concise
executive ready materials. Strong written and verbal communication
skills, including synthesizing complex information for business
audiences. Proven ability to partner cross functionally and
influence without authority. Experience supporting sales,
distribution, or product teams preferred.
