Summary and Qualifications As a Special Procedures Technologist,
you are responsible for operating the imaging equipment and
producing radiographs according to the standards and practices set
forth by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist. You will
assists the radiologist or physician to perform both diagnostic and
interventional procedures. You will demonstrate knowledge of the
human structure and functions, patient care, positioning,
principles of radiographic sciences, radiation protection and
specialized techniques unique to the Special Procedures
environment. You will assists with all procedures performed in the
Interventional Suite You will demonstrate proficiency with all
equipment within the Interventional Suite procedure room including
but not limited to: Fluoro, Pan Table, Med Rad injector, Monitors,
Ultrasound Unit, Control panels for digital acquisition and image
transfer You will Demonstrate sterile technique as appropriate and
maintain sterile field while performing scrub position You will
prepare patient and room for exams while managing wires and other
multiple components required for procedure You will perform role of
circulator during procedure including: Pull supplies, altering
technique as phase of exam requires, Man and operate injector,
Communicate to patients family/unit progress, and Answer physician
calls/pages during procedure You will provide patient care
throughout procedure while explaining the procedure to patient and
ensure understanding. You will pull Sheath and hold pressure to
manage puncture/access site You will maintain par level of
supplies, completing special order requests as needed Ensures
compliance to established Conscious Sedation policy and procedure
What qualifications you will need: Two years’ Radiology
Technologist experience in an acute care setting 1 -2 years’
experience as an Interventional Technologist - preferred Graduate
of an educational program in Radiology accredited by the Joint
Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT) OR
graduate of an American Medical Association approved program in
Radiologic Technology OR a military training program of equivalent
standards Associates Degree or higher in Radiologic Technology
Current Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification with
Texas Medical Board (TMB) Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
certification per St. David’s Healthcare policy Certified in
Radiology by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists
American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT (R)) Certified in
Vascular Interventional Radiology by ARRT (ARRT (VI)) St. David’s
